Our history of entrepreneurship

We have been working for some time to digitalize the construction supply chain. Today we are in the top 20 of the  most innovative startups in Spain in 2021 according to El Referente, and in the top 3 of the most innovative companies in construction according to Estate Innovation.. Our vision is to offer the most complete, secure and efficient digital procurement ecosystem in construction. We’ve already come a long way, but how did we get started?

We decided to create Bildia in 2019 to solve existing problems in the processes of estimations, procurement and contracting of products and services for construction. We observed that builders, developers, suppliers and manufacturers suffer daily and in different ways from the inefficiencies of these processes, and we thought that any significant digital solution should be able to bring clear, specific and immediate value to each of the parties, and a positive balance to all of them. We believe we have succeeded: our model offers innovation without complications and without companies having to change the way they work: simply by harnessing the potential of digitalization, which already penetrates many aspects of our lives so easily.

We started presenting Bildia to act UPM, the longest-running digital entrepreneurship competition in Spain, and we were awarded, among 417 participants from all technical fields, for the potential of our business model. From then on, we put all our efforts, experience and resources at the service of the digitalization of our sector.

Using the know-how of the founding team, we developed the first version of our cloud software, which is now state-of-the-art technology. At Bildia we think that the best software is the one that is born to respond to specific problems and that is why we have made a product that is one hundred percent designed for the supply chain, and only for construction, to surprise you every day a little more, making your work more and more simple. To achieve this, the Bildia team places great value on the combination of two things: construction know-how and technological know-how.

After passing through act UPM we have also had the invaluable support of the Lanzadera acceleration program, of Google for Startups, from a group of renowned advisors in the sector who believe deeply in what we do, and from a top-level investment ecosystem in Europe, which knows the construction and real estate sector well and is a further guarantee of success in the medium and long term, so that we can continue to innovate in the construction sector. The basis of trust in every company is people. Bildia was born from the joint vision of four partners with complimentary experiences in the construction industry and in technological development. Jerónimo, nuestro CEO, is an architect from UPM and specialized in innovation in construction and architecture at Harvard University Graduate School of Design, where he graduated with honors. CTO Mencey, is a specialist in technological development applied to the industry, and has participated in some of the most complete platforms in our country, in the transportation, banking, energy and, of course, construction sectors. Nicolás, nuestro COO is an architect expert in strategic project management and tendering, with experience in leading industrial building projects for clients such as Airbus or Leclerc, and Montse Zamorano,who has been with us from the beginning as Founding Advisor, is an architect by training and a leading specialist in digital strategy and user experience for B2B environments such as Bildia.

As a foundation for our innovative work in construction, our team has more than 35 years of experience in works and projects in the public and private sector, the management of more than 100 million Euros in five countries, and a portfolio of more than 30 awards in highly competitive tenders and bids in the sector. Our track record includes numerous professional and academic awards of the highest level, the result of continuous effort, commitment to excellence, and above all, are a guarantee of the quality of the work we do for our clients.

We also maintain a continuous collaboration with universities and innovation centers such as the  IE School of Architecture and Design of the Business Institute,. where Jerónimo is Academic Director of the Master in Business for Architecture and Design or the University of Technology and Digital Art U-tad.

Where does our name come from?

We will be the most complete, efficient and secure supply ecosystem for construction in the digital world. Bildia is a transposition of the English verb BUILD into a community; a country of building in the digital world. We started in Spain, but we have an international focus. That is why our simple and direct name, with 6 letters and ending in "A", conveys the idea of service for all, efficiency, change, optimism and of course construction. Besides, we know that it can be pronounced anywhere.

Where does our logo come from?

Our logo is the fruit of our collaboration with the designer Rafa Celda. We have transformed the "B" in the Alphabet 1919™ by architect Theo Van Doesburg into our hallmark. By being enclosed in a square and using right angles, precise lines and simple geometry, it conveys the efficiency, strength and confidence we offer.

Its simplicity means you can interpret it in your own way, as flexible and easy to use as our software. Our "B" can also be an overlay of modules, a building, a floor plan, a bar chart, or a symbol of collaboration between companies.

Saving time and costs and improving your supply chain means bringing control, efficiency and confidence to your day-to-day life. Our corporate blue, calm, deep and without shadows or artifice, is related to this objective. It is also the color of balance and cooperation, which is key in digital relations between companies for the modernization of our sector.
